The Littlefield Wildcats defeated the Boyd Yellowjackets last night at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene. After going in to the half tied at 14, the Wildcats came out and held the Jackets scoreless in the second half to secure a trip to the Class 2A Division I State Championship Game against the Tatum Eagles. Stephen Viljoen, Brian Hobratschk, and O.J. Zapata rushed for over 100 yards each as Littlefield executed their ground attack game plan to perfection. Sophmore Jeremy Sessums was the leading rusher for the Jackets with 105 yards on 14 carries.

The Boyd Yellowjackets took another step towards a third State Championship with a win over Farmersville, 29-15. Boyd advances to the State Semi-Finals to face off with the Littlefield Wildcats next Saturday night, 7pm at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene. The winner will advance to the Division I Class 2A State Championship game against the winner of the Tatum-Cotulla match-up. Tune in Saturday night to listen to the Jackets!

The Boyd Yellowjackets continue their march through the state playoffs with a big win over the Grandview Zebras Saturday night, 44-27. The Jacket offense was firing on all pistons, as quarterback Cody Ogle threw for over 250 yards and ran for over 100 yards. Brandon Clement and Jeremy Nelson were the primary beneficiaries of Ogle's passing yardage, both ending the night with over 75 yards receiving. RB's Josh Foster, Jeremy Sessums and Danny Martin combined for another 237 yards on the ground. Boyd advances to the State Quarter-Finals and will face off with the Farmersville Fightin' Farmers this Saturday afternoon at the Collins Athletic Complex in Denton.

The Boyd Yellowjackets live to play another day after shutting out the Henrietta Bearcats on Saturday afternoon at Bedford's Pennington Field, winning 21-0. Unfortunately, Friday Night Fever's other representatives weren't so lucky. The Paradise Panthers were shocked by the Holliday Eagles Saturday night at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls, falling victim to a first round upset by a score of 35-14. In one of the most higly anticipated match-ups across the entire state, the Decatur Eagles were beaten by Abilene Wylie 36-35. Those present saw Wylie score 9 points in the final 33 seconds to stun Decatur and put the first and last blemish on the Eagles 2006 football record.
